Dear Friends and Colleagues:

On behalf of the WOEMA Board of Directors and the Western Occupational Health Conference (WOHC) planning committee, we welcome you to the 66th annual WOHC, which will be held at the luxurious Silverado Resort and Spa in beautiful Napa, California! This is our first hybrid conference with both live and virtual attendance options. We are delighted that so many are planning to attend in person. Whether you are traveling and attending a live conference for the first time in a few years or resumed travel a while back, WOHC 2022 will replenish your mind, body, and soul!

This year’s conference theme, “Aspire and Advocate: The Pursuit of Environmental Medicine, Worker Health and Public Health,” reflects our intentions to continually strive for educational excellence and clinical competence while advocating for workers, the environment, and health equity.

The WOHC planning committee, led by Chair Dr. Alya Khan and Vice-Chair Dr. David Caretto, has planned a diverse and innovative program with plenty of opportunities to interact and network. The broad range of offerings, with many notable speakers, are sure to appeal to a wide variety of interests no matter what the area of focus in OEM. Of special note this year, we are grateful that Charlie Toledo, Executive Director of the Suscol Intertribal Council, will open the conference on Saturday October 8, 2022, with a land acknowledgement and blessing. We are equally fortunate to have Dr. Tomas Aragon, Director of the California Department of Public Health, give the Keynote Address, immediately following.

Many of you know WOHC for its warm welcome and hospitality, and this year is no exception. You can greet old friends and meet new colleagues as well as our commercial supporters at the Opening Reception on Friday October 6. And don’t forget your dancing shoes and dress to impress at the Roaring ‘20’s Signature Event on Saturday October 8!

We look forward to greeting you in person at WOHC 2022 where you will be moved to aspire and advocate!
